One Busy Bee

This morning, at 1:45 am, Monday, February 25, 2013, my loving grandfather, my Lolo, Victor Manzano, passed away. My father and I were at his bedside when he made one last face and he stopped breathing. Earlier in the evening, he was sleeping after some medication was given, and was holding my sister's hand. Though under meds, he resisted a bit every time she slightly moved away. She had to use the restroom eventually and I took her spot. She left at about 11:30 pm last night. I set up my bed of two hospital chairs facing each other next to Lolo's so I can continue to hold his hand as I slept. The middle of his palm started feel cold and he didn't grip my hand as much when I pulled away a bit. I was able to sleep a bit but my Papa wasn't able to. Around 1:40 am, the monitor made beeps and his repertory rate was decreasing. Unfortunately I had to let go of his hand so the three nurses that came in could look him over. Then he was gone. On my first trip to Nothing Bundt Cake in Emeryville, California, there was this flyer for Scott's bridal faire. The Chocolate, Chocolate Chip sample of their cake was delicious and the store had many great gift items. I especially loved the measuring spoons in the shape of diamond engagement rings. That is so my style! I did go to the Bridal Faire in Oakland's beautiful Jack London Square. I brought my bride and friend. We were greeted with a complimentary flute of champagne and a green reusable bag that will be used to save myself $.10 per bag at the grocery store. The sun was reflecting brightly off the water boarding the restaurant and the view was beautiful. I had no idea Scott's had so much room! We were lead past smaller private rooms into a larger room that seemed like a greenhouse but with blooming wedding vendors instead. Continuing to walk along the Grand Canal on the wet pavement, you can hear the water splashing against the edges and little steps leading into the water. You can hear feet making splashes in the puddles and the many different languages of tourists. The gorgeous masquerade masks caught our eye and we tried a couple on. They're so beautiful, decorative and mysterious. Who's behind the mask? I have always wanted to go to a masquerade ball. We reached our first bridge and it was wide and covered with tourists and locals probably a tad bit irritated of so many of us being in their way. We stood at the summit, above the Grand Canal and we wanted a picture. Check! Ron wanted a picture of him clicking his heels down the stairs. Check! and Click!
