Surprise!

Who doesn’t like surprises? I don’t mean “Oopsies, we’re pregnant!” kind of surprises. Have you ever had one of those first days of travel with the long red eye flight that was delayed, you forgot your neck pillow, a child continues to kick your seat and the taxi driver was driving like a maniac making you nauseous? How about finally getting into your hotel room and all you want to do is plop down on the bed and pass out?

But you can’t.

Because your thoughtful best friend or appreciative Travel Agent (ahem!) has ordered a special gift basket full of wine, cheese and local goodies and it’s laying gently on your perfectly fitted queen bed! Also included is a simple note wishing you a safe arrival and hopefully some relaxation or a killer business meeting. Wouldn’t that be nice?



I have been working part time as a Concierge at one of the best hotels at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco for a bit over six months. I really do enjoy it. I get to meet people from all over the world and do special things like this coordinating gift baskets, hand write special notes and even arrange flower petals on the bed for a romantic getaway.



For my client's birthday on a cruise in the Bahamas, I have ordered a special birthday cake to arrive during her first dinner aboard. And special thank you gifts for travel agent clients and referrals are on their way. This cute pouch by Stella & Dot was gifted for a client that just went on a Princess Cruise to Alaska. Perhaps it will inspire her to go somewhere warm next!

Tomorrow ends the month of April and I was 10 posts behind the daily blog post challenge. For this Monday Motivation post, I will keep going until I reach that 30 count. Better late than never! May is turning out to be a busy month. Not surprising for this One Busy Bee. I finally have a set schedule for my part time job as a Concierge at the Argonaut Hotel at Fisherman's Wharf. I really do like the job, what I'm doing, the hotel and staff, and how the time spent here contributes to my experience in the travel and tourism industry, all the while continuing in the hospitality industry as well. Working only about 30 hours a week, it will finally allow me to schedule workouts, get in some sort of sleeping pattern and work on my business as a Travel Agent . There is so much to do! The Bad Girls Club & Love Games, Sarah Michaels, IS the Wellness Shot!

I became a fan of the Bad Girls Club when a Season 3 marathon was airing (in 2008, is it?) and I just had the television on while I was doing chores around the house. Every now and then I’d hear “*BEEP* you, you *BEEP*ing *BEEP*!”, some screaming and “This is the Amber Show” do-do-do-do-do-Doo! Eventually I was glued to the screen and not doing chores anymore and spent most of the day laughing and thinking “ohnoshedidn’t!” They were NUTS! I don’t think I could live my life with a camera following me around and for the whole world to see and criticize. But I kept on watching and when fights broke out, my boyfriend would hear the screaming from another room and ask “WHAT are you watching?!?” I am not one for reality television. MTV had it with The Real World with Pedro, Puck, Pam and whoever… when it was in San Francisco. (GO GIANTS!) My Most Engaging Post Yet

Christmas is just days away. A storm in the Bay Area has passed. Two holiday parties were a success. But these past 18 hours have been a whirlwind for sure. Yesterday evening, after dinner, in our home office discussing the home we are in process of purchasing, holding a gray box from The Shane Company , my boyfriend (wearing a black long sleeved shirt and his Adidas pants with white paint stains from painting the condo earlier this year, and I in jeans, my Toby Keith blue tank top from his Las Vegas “ I Love This Bar ” restaurant, my blue SFSU zipper up sweatshirt, and my brown childhood blanket draped over my lap) got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. “Yeah.” I hugged him tight and kissed him repeatedly.
