#StillInIt 2017 - Week 5

Image
Week 5 of 8 of this #StillInIt fitness challenge by Bodybuilding.com and Dymatize . I have a lot to make up for. I am definitely not where I want to be after a month of this challenge. I can't say I'll even be in the running to win this contest but at least I feel good. My numbers aren't moving fast enough but I feel good and stronger, especially after being sick the entire time during Week 4 . Not fun. Monday Weight lifted: 1,200 pounds Fitbit steps: 10,027 Stayed home and worked out with sit-ups, leg tucks, hammer curls, curls and bent over rows. I wasn't feeling 100% and thought I'd continue being courteous and not bring my sickness to the gym. Tuesday Weight lifted: 6.000 pounds Fitbit  steps: 9,024 Trying to target more of my lower abs, did burpees, box jumps, squats, hip thrusts, barbell rows, cab drivers and plate curls. It felt so good to be back at the gym. Nutrishop tank - Team Bay Area. Wednesday Fitbit  steps: 7,313 I actually can&#

#StillInIt 2017 - Week 4

Image
This will be a short post. I was sick majority of the Week 4 of 8 of this Bodybuilding.com #StilInIt Challenge. I started to feel sick starting on Monday. Monday I slept in and decided to go to the gym to try to sweat it out. I just did cardio on the bike to keep my body moving. I went to work, tried to stick it out but couldn't even make it an hour and I went home. I stopped off at Jamba Juice to get an Orange Dream Machine for some Vitamin D and had Panda Express looking for Hot and Sour Soup but they stopped carrying soup. Instead I went with Orange Chicken, Broccoli & Beef and Chow Mein and Veggies. I then headed home to sleep, relax and watch Chopped  with Bevo . Snapchat - 'bappletree' Bevo the Boston Tuesday & Wednesday Stayed home, no workout. Ordered Eat24 . Bevo the Boston Thursday A good friend brought over FOUR canisters of homemade soup and broth. I immediately felt better. The next day, I was OK enough to go to work.

See How Art Can Change the World

Image
If I can keep the same sunglasses for over five years, I can see how, as Artist, Robert Rauschenberg says, "art can change the world." Summer is coming up but people in need is year round. Partnering with Warby Parker , a company that distributes a pair of glasses to those in need for each pair sold, takes it a step farther and has a new line benefiting the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation . Over five years, Rauschenberg 'traveled to ten countries - in many of which freedom of expression was oppressed - with the goal of sparking dialogue and forging mutual understanding through the creative process." My personal favorite are the Primrose Crystal sunglasses. I do not and have never owned a pair of sunglasses that weren't black framed and dark as could be. I would rock these this Summer as a Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk season pass holder wearing cut off jeans, an airy, light-colored top and flip flops with my matching pink pedicured toes, while holding my 3-year-ol

Trust & Business

Image
Trust and business - seem to go hand in hand, right? When you go into business with friends and family, you would think the partnership would be much more secure. I have received many different view points on this, one of which is a family member and other are two successful businessmen that have known me for over 10 years. These discussions take place over drinks. Except the one with my father. I had the Sapporo earlier at my Lola's dinner. My father is my financial adviser and one of the only men I can truly trust. It was a difficult discussion of something I am ashamed to speak of: failure, even at the age of 36. I still do not want to disappoint my father. Instead, he understood my actions and gave me some great advice. Imperial Seafood Restaurant , Concord, CA The second person I turned to was someone I have known for about 10 years and is a successful businessman involved in many different kinds of businesses. I have been trusted with his social gatherings, propert

Another year supporting GirlVentures , the Hike for Girls at Tilden Regional Park took place exactly one year later on May 7th, 2017. GirlVentures ' mission 'is to empower adolescent girls to develop and express their strengths.' On last year's hike , I met a girl named Lina. This year she was one of the speakers. It's amazing how much can change in a year. Congratulations, Lina! Bevo had a good time too. 2016 Hike for Girls

Stella & Dot Hostess Turned Model - Erika

Image
Thanks to my friend, Erika, she is my first Stella & Dot Hostess now that I'm back at it ! She asked me a few months ago to help her get some new clothes. I bought a lot of clothes from Hot Miami Styles where I often shop and unfortunately, she didn't like anything I picked and we shipped everything back. Now no longer wearing a uniform to work, she asked for some help in what to wear. She's got some style and she cleans up really nice. She would Snapchat pictures of her outfit and I'd say that I would have a great piece of jewelry to add to it. She offered to model some and post pictures of it on social media. I thought, well, she's doing the work to get the jewelry some attention. She might as well get rewarded for her efforts in free jewelry as a hostess. And lucky her, she already has three orders! She is definitely on her way to earning some rewards. Check out these great photos. Support her and order from her trunk show here http://www.ste

Mother's Day 2017

Image
Being a mother is just not in the cards for me and I have recently come to grips with that. As a product of divorce and my lovely dating track record, I do not wish having an innocent go thru what I went thru if I have anything to do with it.  I'm OK with being a puppy momma to Bevo and an aunt to my several nieces and nephews. Yesterday, I met up with our former Pastry Chef, Michelle , at her baby's first birthday party in San Bruno. It was a windy day and I had to stand in the sun. It was nice to catch up and know that she'll be A-OK after DW . Gabe is her first baby. He's a cutie and is smiling a lot more. Then I spent time with my best friend and my niece and nephew. I treated her to a quick beauty session at the mall and a 'fancy' dinner at The Habit. We sang Moana songs in the car and had some Snapchat fun. Christy works so hard, is a good mom and does basically everything for the kids. I tried to do what I can to make sure she know
