Whiskey & Women Wednesday, 10/7

Image
Breast cancer has effected a few wonderful women in my life and I want it to stop.  I am happy to announce that Dirty Water 's first Women Wednesdays will go to benefit the Breast Cancer Emergency Fund. On October 7th, 5-7 pm, DW's talented bartender, Maritza, will be creating a whiskey-based cocktail for the evening. For every cocktail of hers that is sold and a whiskey flight, $1 will go towards breast cancer research. Our Pastry Chef, Michelle Cabrera, will be doing a special dessert pairing as well. Pay with Cover and get $5 off your bill that evening. We invite ladies to join us, wear some pink, network and support this cause. Raffle prizes are being gathered but tickets will be 1 for $3, 2 for $5. Raised funds will also go towards breast cancer research.  PRIZE LIST: Two tickets to the Whiskies of the World event in San Francisco on the SF Belle, a Hornblower yacht on March 26, 2015 ($240 value) Two (2) $50.00 Cover credits to Dirty Water Nuub

Support Local Designers

Shop small! Buy local! You have to give small business owners credit for taking the risk and putting in long hours all the while keeping a day job so they can launch their own business, be their own boss and make a dream come true. Trust me, I'm STILL in it. Before DW , it was more on the smaller scale with minimal investment. I started as an Independent Event Planner & Coordinator back in 2007, became a Notary Public thanks to my former employer who took care of all of the fees since 2008, I attempted to be a Wellness International Network rep in 2010 but that was NOT a small investment, and then I started as a Stella & Dot Stylist in 2011. DW has been the biggest and most important investment I have made because I invested in myself in a big way. It was my way out of being in a position with no room for growth. I was not learning anything. I was not being challenged. And I wasn't passionate about the work. Since December 2013, I have spent countless hours and do

#ThrowbackThursday, Boston & Austin!

Image
#throwbackthursday #tbt to a night in the city with Christina and friends. Love this picture of us. Can't wait for Austin. 15 days! Clift Hotel , San Francisco - April 2014 You may recall that almost a year ago on my birthday, my divorce was finalized after almost two years. Christina was going thru a breakup and we both had reasons to get the hell out of town. So over happy hour at Bijou in Hayward, Ca, we booked a 36-hour trip to Boston the following weekend. Our flight got in on Saturday morning at 6 am and had a late afternoon flight the next day. We had a 10 am tour scheduled at Samuel Adams Brewery . And there we met our Canadians. Brian basically invited us to join his party of other men there for business at Doyle's, as recommended by our shuttle driver. "Doyle's!" comes with a double fist pump. The Canadians were very cool and we ended up hanging out with them all day. We went to Beerworks near the ballpark and even went on a

Boss Babe

I have never been one to think I'm gorgeous or call myself beautiful. That's a descriptive I leave for others. I'm not the hottest woman in the room, I don't turn heads everywhere I walk and I'm more cute than anything else. I don't let people's compliments go to my head but I am confident enough to want to look a certain way that I am solely happy with and have the life to match it. There are smart, intelligent businesswomen out there that don't dress the part. I choose to. When I saw BossBabe quotes on Pinterest , I had to follow them on Instagram . I'm a millennial and businesswomen of this generation are making it look good.  When I walk the floor of DWSF , I always wear heels. I'm in love with shoes by  Cole Haan  and Jessica Simpson. People would ask how I manage all day. Heels make me feel confidant. You hear the clicks on the cement floor and you can hear me coming. My Service Manager is a confident and well-dressed man and told
