You may recall that almost a year ago on my birthday, my divorce was finalized after almost two years. Christina was going thru a breakup and we both had reasons to get the hell out of town. So over happy hour at Bijou in Hayward, Ca, we booked a 36-hour trip to Boston the following weekend.
Our flight got in on Saturday morning at 6 am and had a late afternoon flight the next day. We had a 10 am tour scheduled at Samuel Adams Brewery. And there we met our Canadians.
Brian basically invited us to join his party of other men there for business at Doyle's, as recommended by our shuttle driver. "Doyle's!" comes with a double fist pump.
The Canadians were very cool and we ended up hanging out with them all day. We went to Beerworks near the ballpark and even went on a tour with them.
We ended up meeting up with them that evening and went to a bar and the club at The W. It was a fun night that included me getting a piggyback ride all around downtown on the search for food because my feet hurt. Let's just leave it at that.
The next day, Christina and I checked out the Freedom Trail and the Cheers bar while the boys tailgated for the Patriots game. We wished we had done that instead of sit so long at the airport because our flight was delayed and it was a hassle getting home.
Soooo... it is that time again. We booked our flights to Austin yesterday. Christina is just out of a different relationship and I, on that front, have nothing major to report. We are going for my birthday weekend and to replace a Costa Rica she was supposed to be on. Kind of works out perfectly.
I am excited to hang with this girl. We are going to go a University of Texas game. My dog is named Bevo, after the UT mascot. And we are staying downtown, close to 6th Street, its nightlife and live music. It'll be whiskey, country music, BBQ, football and cowboys. I am definitely ok with that. Next year, we want to go to New Orleans.
This trip produced some fantastic pictures!
