Cut, Cut, Cut

***UPDATE 7/5/11*** - It looks like I'll be able to go to Chukchansi and The Greek after all. I have great friends that are rearranging their finances so I can go but use my car. I love being part of OBTB. The Indio, CA ticket is still available.

Due to a situation beyond our control, I need to make some cuts and I'm selling three individual Los Lonely Boys concerts tickets. All really good seats!

- Thursday, 7/28 at Chukchansi Casino in Coarsegold, CA, Section 1, Seat A-1 (Yes, Front Row!) -$60 or best offer

- Friday, 7/29 at The Greek in Los Angeles, Pit Center, Seat EE-114 - $72

- Saturday, 7/30 at Fantasy Springs in Indio, CA, Section C, A-8 (Yes, Front Row) - $88 or best offer

These tickets are at Will Call and will need to be transferred to your name.

Please spread the word. I know it's hard to get rid of solo tickets. I'd appreciate your help. Thanks!

July 4th Weekend!!!

The long weekend is almost upon us and June will be coming to a close. What are your plans for the holiday? Watching fireworks? BBQing? Hanging out with family and friends? I am so looking forward to attending and being part of my first block party in our neighborhood. I have heard about them, I know it happens, and I'm really looking forward to lounging all day long. I invited everyone I know to come out, enjoy the expected 95 degree heat and bring something to share. I can't feed the whole neighborhood so it was a pot luck invitation.

On top of that, I love offering my friends, family and customers great deals. Stella & Dot has reduced some of their already reduced items another 20% for the holiday weekend! Savings are great.

For instance, the Festival 'til Dawn Necklace is on sale for $79

The Jolie Ring is now $31, not $39.

Hmm, what am I going to wear on July 4th....

Another Look at FALL 2011 & Hoopla!

Take a look at the cover of Stella & Dot's new Mini Look Book.

What do you think? Would you wear that necklace?

I just purchased my ticket to Hoopla, Stella & Dot's Annual National Sales Conference that will be taking place at the San Francisco Hilton near Union Square for three days, July 7-9, 2011. Due to some other responsibilities my household had to address, I wasn't absolutely positive I was going to go. But now I DEFINITELY am!! (Thanks to the Fiance for giving me the green light.) I had such a great time at the last training session in Danville, CA at Faz Restaurant. I met great ladies and left energized and I ended up having a pretty decent month, with only being my 2nd month in the business. I have had more success as a Stylist than... oh nevermind. I'm Going to HOOPLA!

I am most looking forward to the Fashion Show where they unveil the Fall 2011 line. The last fashion show I went to, I was in it. That was ages ago! We'll also have a chance to feel like we're at a super-sized Trunk Show because we'll get to touch and try the jewelry before we make our purchases for new additions to our display tables. I can't wait to add more to my display! And I can't wait to book a Trunk Show with YOU with them!

Besides the new jewelry, we'll be able to interact with Jessica Herrin and Danielle Redner and receive additional trainings. I am very much looking forward to this and I am sure I won't regret going.

New Fall Line launches for purchase on Thursday, July 7th.

Who's excited?? I'M excited!

***UPDATE 7/5/11*** I'm so bummed that I won't be able to make it to Hoopla afterall. Per my Cut, Cut, Cut posting above I had to cut back on some expenses. It would have been so much fun but I have to use the money for Hoopla towards the new Fall line which I am so excited to see this coming Thursday.

I noticed that my blog got quite a bit of hits this weekend due to the search word: "HOOPLA" - LOVE those hits! Keep 'em coming!

My Lolo

That's what I call my grandfather. Apparently he's been sick for a month. He was sick when I saw him this past Father's Day and although my father ordered him his favorite (Sweet and Sour Pork), he didn't have an appetite to eat much. And he didn't want any rice. That's surprising. Lolo loves 'kanin' (rice, in Tagalog).

I received an email this morning from my sister that he had a 108 fever last night and went to the ER but there were so many people there he wasn't seen. So he's back there now and is being monitored. When I can leave work, I'll head over to the hospital or to their house. I hope he feels better.

Here we are getting back from Hawaii in 2006
Lolo, Shanti, Me, Nolan, Lola, Matt & Mike

Lolo used to always just pat my shoulder and say "OK" in response to my hug and telling him I love him. He's been saying it back for the past couple of years now. Tell your loved ones you love them every chance you get. It only takes a second.

3-in-3 Jewelry Trunk Shows!

Three trunk shows in three days + a full time job. This is why my blog is named what it is. My earlier slow down post goes into effect tonight… maybe. I have some major cleaning to do since I have been focusing on my Stella & Dot business. The fiancĂ© gave me a weird look when he inquired about the last time I vacuumed. *Snap on the wrist taken.* But I don’t want to talk about all the chores I have to do, I am having a good time doing these trunk shows!

Thursday night, I am still at Shirasoni in Brentwood, CA on Ladies Night. Go to their web site and print out the coupon for 50% off selected cocktails and appetizers. My display is in the lobby with necklaces, bracelets, earrings, Look Books, a newsletter sign-up sheet and the NEW Renegade collection. While you’re there, Steve will make you a great cocktail and my favorite rolls are the Giant Maki and the Bad Joe Roll without the spicy sauce. Use Danny’s ponzu sauce instead of soy sauce. It’s delicious!

Also on this day, my Matron of Honor gave birth to Baby Emma. I found out at this Trunk Show. How wonderful!

Saturday, June 18th, I had two shows. One at The Catwalk Boutique in Brentwood, CA from 9 AM to 2 PM. The second one was at a private residence in Santa Clara to for a casino night to fundraise for a Team in Training Member’s efforts. That was from 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM.

The Catwalk Boutique is awesome. One side has new clothes, and the other side is all consignment clothes, shoes and purses. I picked up a great Ann Taylor dress there and wore it to my first Stella & Dot meeting in Danville. I have a few things I my closet I have never worn, I might as well bring it in and see if it sells. You should too! And Laura is wonderful.

I will be there again on Saturday, July 23, 2011 from 9 AM – 2 PM. Come by!

Saturday night was also fun in Santa Clara for Danielle’s fundraiser. We had fun with the photo booth and all its props and I had a great time playing Texas Hold’em poker (the fiancĂ© was proud of my winning bluff.) It was cool to see and hear the gratitude from honoree’s speech, to shake his hand and see people having a good time benefiting a great cause.

The girls had a great time wearing the jewelry.

I have met some wonderful people (including other Stylists) and it feels really good putting smiles on their faces. Like my good friend, Lakota. Look how happy she is with her Heirloom Deco Bracelet (which is now no longer available.)

I am looking to book more trunk shows! Let’s earn those free jewelry credits, Ladies! My mid-July hostess is half way there to get our Lady Bug earrings.

What’s on your Wish List?

Looking for a Few Good Fans

I have been a member of the Los Lonely Boys Street Team called La Onda for basically six years now and have made several wonderful friends, traveled many miles together and shared many memories (LLB-related and non). As I am living in the San Francisco Bay Area, we are looking for new members to join the NorCal chapter called Onda by the Bay (OBTB). We promote the band, the concerts and the music out of the goodness of our hearts for the love of Henry, JoJo and Ringo Garza and their music. We do so by making our own swag, handing it out to other fans at concerts, to our friends and family, re-post news and photos on Facebook, Twitter and on bulletin boards. We do not do this to get closer to the Boys or to get ‘special’ benefits such as free tickets or meet-and-greets, but the Boys do appreciate everything we have done as a group and it is definitely recognized. You could call us die-hard fans. If you are too and are located in the Bay Area, we’d love to meet you! If you are not located in the Bay Area, we can direct you to a group that’s closes to you. We'd love to keep La Onda growing.

Our group ranges in ages from tweens to 70s even! We come from a variety of ethnic backgrounds, social statuses, educational backgrounds and cities in Northern California such as Redding, Napa, Santa Cruz, Watsonville, Fremont, San Jose, Morgan Hill, Brentwood, and Antioch. We like the diversity and we’d like you to join in the mix! We get together to make swag, celebrate birthdays and holidays, or even to watch Dancing with the Stars because we've become great friends.

There is no concert attendance tally requirement and no $$$ requirement - Just genuine love for The Boys, your participation in discussions concerning the group and The Boys as much as you can (we understand that LIFE happens), and if possible, a donation to produce agreed upon swag that you are entitled to receive a portion of to distribute. Each of us take the responsibility of our own travel arrangements for shows, obtaining/purchasing of tickets and spots in line for general admission concerts, and costs of meals on group outings. But we always work together towards the goal is to have a good time and promote The Boys.

If this is of some interest, please contact me and let’s chat! Don’t be afraid to approach us at an upcoming concert… actually, we might approach you first to take home a piece of swag to hang on your fridge, cubicle at work or even to give to someone you know that wished they could’ve been at that concert. We’re a friendly group, love talking about The Boys, the music and just having a good time. See!

I'm Going to Love My Summer. How About You?

It’s another month and I’ll be a Stella & Dot Stylist for officially one month come this Friday, June 3rd. Boy, how time flies. I think I’m doing well and I am definitely having a great time with it. I’m not even bummed that I’m not working on a wedding beside my own and I love getting the compliments on the jewelry. It’s really incredibly easy to talk to people about. I have a lot to say about S&D and so much to mention with some June promos to LOVE YOUR SUMMER.

The Memorial Day sale has been extended until the selected pieces are gone. The sale was advertising 20% off but I’m noticing that some items are more than 50% off. That’s quite a steal! Once these bestsellers are gone, they are GONE. Get them now!

A June new Stylist promotion has also been announced. Sign up as a new Stylist in the month of June and get up to $550 in FREE jewelry! That's $200 more than what comes with your $199 investment to start your own business. That’s quite good. I was ecstatic about get $350 in free jewelry. Lucky June Stylists. I would love to start a team to work with.

The Renegade Collection is described as tough and metro-chic. It will be released soon and is currently being shot and adored by fashion photographers and magazines.

And the Fall collection will be unveiled in July at Hoopla, the annual event I am 90% sure I’ll be attending! One of their designers took 15 samples of the Fall line to Vogue in New York and left them at their office as they fell in love with them. I foresee the collection being in the mother of all fashion magazines soon.

I will be having Trunk Shows at:
- Shirasoni Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi (6367 Lone Tree Lane Brentwood, CA 94513) for the upcoming LADIES NIGHT’s on Thursdays, June 2nd and June 9th from 6-8PM.
- the Helm Field at Los Gatos High School (20 High School Court, Los Gatos, CA 95030-6917) on Tuesday, June 7th from 5:30-7:30 PM while the Team in Training for Nike Women’s Half Marathon will be going on.
- The Catwalk Boutique (306 Oak Street, Brentwood, CA 94513) from 9AM – 2PM on Saturday, June 18th
- Team in Training for Nike Women’s Half Marathan Casino Night fundraiser in Santa Clara, CA (1057 Garrity Way) from 5:30 PM – 10 PM on June 18th. For tickets, looking up Casino Night TNT/LLS Fundraiser on Facebook. Play poker, backgammon, black jack to win numerous prizes and have 10% of Stella & Dot sales go towards her fundraising goal.

Come by and visit my table or host your own Stella & Dot jewelry party at your home, office or local restaurant or coffee shop! I am available to travel!

Hope June is super busy!!!

Napa 5-29-11

I love Napa. I have to thank my former boss and good friend, although I haven’t seen him in a long time, Kristian, for introducing me to wine. Always wonderful memories. Here’s Julia’s first wine trip outing over Memorial Day weekend. The italicized verbiage below is from my Yelp reviews at Be-Friend me!

Itinerary – she laughs that I’m such a planner.

The best Muscat – something to smile about.

A cool way to carry a bottle of wine.

A private tasting room

Black Stallion Winery
This was our first stop in Napa this past weekend. I have been to Napa several times before but my friend has never gone. This was a first for both of us to visit a tasting room on the Silverado Trail. We pull into the main drive and see a limo parked right in front of the black stallion statue. Very cool. We made our way around to the parking lot where there were vintage cars parks and made it into the tasting room. We were immediately greeted, carded and given a taste of chardonnay. I picked this spot because according to their Twitter account, they were doing tastings for an Elvis Presley line of wine. I’m a big Elvis fan.

Tastings were $10 and decided to stay inside to taste the Elvis wine. They were not serving it outside though it was a beautiful day. Michele was awesome. We even caught her on her last full day there. So glad because she was so personable. I tried the Elvis Riesling, Pinot Noir, Old Vine Zin and Cab. And the Syrah. But I absolutely fell in love with the Muscat. It was delicious and doesn’t hit you with sugar shock. But it was $38 for a half bottle. I couldn’t justify that. But my friend bough the $14 Riesling and it waved her tasting fee. I also checked in on Yelp so we got a 2-for-1 tasting so that meant we didn’t pay for any tastings.

I inquired about holding a private event here and they do but not full on weddings. They had a private room with a 10-person table with barrels in the room, and then we got a short tour into the cellar area. So awesome. I will definitely want to visit this winery again. Everyone was great. They also had wine related products laid out.

I was wearing the Petra bracelet and Deco Drop Earrings and Michele really liked it. I gave her my Stella & Dot card if she wanted to do a little shopping. I also wanted to tip her but I didn’t have any cash with me. She saw us take the Lipotrim (it avoids hangovers, no joke) and she was also interested in those. I asked her if I could tip her with some pills. Drug dealer, I know. And she was more than happy to take them. She told her coworker that she just met her new best friends. Awesome.

Hagafen Cellars
Starting off at Black Stallion Winery probably hurt this tasting visit immensely. We had a great time there and this tasting room was quite small, limited counter space, one barrel to share with a drawing bowl to rest your glass down. It was $10 a tasting for five wines. But the pours were real skimpy and the wine wasn’t very flavorful in our opinion. I ‘liked’ their Facebook page and we each got a free glass. It was the only glass we got to take home that day and it will probably be a reminder that we didn’t like the wine very much.

I inquired about wedding/private venue space and they didn’t have any but they were more than happy to sell me some wedding wine. I bet.

We sat outside at one of their 3-4 tables with their iron chairs and enjoyed the sun while we snacked on some carbs we brought with us on our trip. We paid for 5 tastings but we just stopped at 4. It was eh. It was great to have the experience and a free glass though.

Darioush Winery
*GASP* What a beautiful spot! Driving thru the iron gates and pillars, tree lined strip and complimentary valet! Awesome! It’s absolutely gorgeous. We walked in and thought we had to check in with the front desk who was busily on the phone. The counters were busy and the room itself was just as amazing as the outside grounds. We had two options for tastings. 5 fines for $35, or 2 for $18. We just went with one tasting of the 2 wines after we walked around looking at the many items for sale and private tasting areas with lounge like seats. We were given a bowl of dried out pistachios which caused me to break a nail. And the tasting was of one red and one white. Too me, nothing truly amazing. Perhaps if I wanted to shell out $35 for tasting of 3 more wines, the probability of me liking one may have improved but I declined.

I was complimented by the valet on my ’07 Civic Si. Shocker. I’m sure he gets to drive a whole bunch of rare cars here so I’ll take his compliment, hand over the small tip and be on our way. Great experience and again, the do not do wedding here. Bummer. It’s gorgeous!

Mario Andretti Winery
Cool spot. Very limited parking. There’s a fountain on the patio, an L-shaped counter for tastings, racing photos, pretzels and mustard samples. Tastings were $15 for 5 wines. I know I had the Pinot Noir and the Cabernet. I got sugar shock from the Muscat. It was pretty hard to swallow. The staff was friendly and the grounds were very nice. There were places to take your wine outside and we met a great group of folks from Livermore. A cat wandering the grounds and of course Andretti shirts you purchase.

A nice group of folks from Livermore took this photo of us. Thank god a good one came from Julia’s cell phone because the guy that was taking photos with my phone was actually taking videos. The ladies in the group really liked the Petra bracelet and I again handed out my cards. I mentioned that most of our jewelry was under $50 and the gentlemen approved.

We were headed to Mustards but it was an hour and a half wait. No, thanks! If the wait was reasonable I would’ve taken Julia next door to Cosentino, where Kristian took Mela and I on our first trip to Napa. So, we finished up with water and food at Hurley’s, I met with Meredith regarding having a private event there, my wedding, and checked out the private room. I think it’s doable. The food was great and the presentation was wonderful. Here is their Critical Mass French Fries.

Then we headed home to our dogs and watched The Hangover Part 2, which was quite extreme. Good times.
