Women Wednesday with Karl Strauss & Craft & Clothes Blogger

Image
Women Wednesdays take place the first Wednesday of the month at Dirty Water in San Francisco. It is an event to highlight women in the industry and give back to a local non-profit. Yesterday, we had a special flight of Karl Stauss beer and had popular fashion blogger on Instagram and beer rep, Rania Theodosi aka Craft & Clothes . She rocked her "Karl is my Godfather" shirt. Love it! We had a good time, enjoyed some beer, the Kentucky Fried Quail on #NationalFriedChicken day (who comes up with this stuff?!?) and had some girl time. My favorite of the flight remains the Aurora. They have awesome swag like pins, bottle opener key chains and stickers that say " Will Work for Beer " and " Enjoy Your Session ," as in their Mosaic Session. Check them out and be sure to check in on Untappd when you try them at DW. Rockin' my White House Black Market dress & heels Stella & Dot jewelry & beer. Craft & Clothes inspired. ...

Women Wednesday - South American Wine

Image
On August 3rd from 5-8pm at Dirty Water, we continue with our monthly Women Wednesday event. Tara, our Wine Director and Sommelier, has recently returned from Argentina and Chile. She says part of being a Sommelier is telling stories. Since DW has opened, the rest of us have wished her a fabulous trip with envy to expenses paid (minus the airfare) trips to France and now South America. Some days she'll come into work a bit exhausted and her reasoning is ' so much wine .' Poor Tara, right? Well she deserves it. At such a young age of 26, she is now studying for her Advanced Sommelier exam. Go get 'em, Tara. Please join us for Women Wednesday with a special South American wine flight and meet Tara's recent travel companion and owner of Copa Fina Wine Imports , Shelbi Herring. One dollar of each purchased goes to La Raza Community Resource Center , a non-profit with programs such as a Mother's Support Group. It provides a 'safe place for communal...

Following up on the yesterday's post of #EqualPayDay 2017 , we at DW held our monthly Women Wednesday event. It occurs the first Wednesday of every month, highlights women in the industry such as female distillers, brewers, winemakers or ladies of the event planning industry like last night. We tie it to a drink special and give back to a local non-profit. For April, we gave one dollar for every glass of Veuve Clicquot Rich champagne to Random Acts of Flowers, a non-profit that takes event flowers and delivers them to health care facilities. Each lady that came by was offered a swag bag with items from Marlo's Bakeshop , Benefit Cosmetics , The Knot , First Republic Bank , Fitness SF and Classic Party & Tent Rentals . In attendance was Marlo from Marlo's Bakeshop , Gwen for Classic , Jeanavieve from The Village , Diane of Rodan & Fields and Audio Ecstacy , Stephanie of Fitness SF , Justina of Intertwine Hair Design and Chloe of Chloe Jackman Photography . Women Wednesday - Female Foodies February

Image
It was the first time we at DW highlighted food for our monthly Women Wednesday events and it was a success and so much fun. I wanted to meet other female bloggers. Blogging has become the thing to do nowadays. Anyone and everyone has a website or an Instagam account highlighting their travels, recipes they've tried and even their dogs. Guilty! Bevo totally has his own Instagram account ' BevoTheBoston '. I thought this would be a good way to get our food shot, for people to know about DW and for me to learn from other bloggers. I reached out to a few women with thousands of followers. But apparently they've made it in the blogging world and only take paid assignments. I'll pay you in snacks and a good time. 'How 'bou dah? ' After a couple of big bloggers, I went for female foodies that take great photos. I invited them to join me that evening for dinner and to meet other women with the same interests. Also, an incentive to come was to possibly wi...

SF Vintner's Market Event - Friday, Apr. 1st.

Image
The first quarter of the year is gone. No joke. It flew by, didn't it? April Fool's Day of drinking of a non-drinking week started out with North Coast Brew Co.'s Pranqster Belgium Golden Ale and it was tasty. John, my Brewer, loved it. He's so funny. DW has it on tap so go try it out! I then had a part to tend to, investors came in but had two tours of the venue earlier that day. I am looking forward to filling April up. I bought the SF Vinter's Market event tickets the week before with hopes of bringing another one of my staff to go get more experience with us. I thought we would have access to the reserve room which they call the 'colt' room (?) We did end up spending the whole evening there with some assistance and we tried some great wines. Sparkles caught our attention and had a sparkling rose. The folks that worked behind the table worked at Chaya and Rachel, Court and I were just there DJing Super Bowl City. Half price bot...
