Lomi Lomi
Let me let me tell you about my Lomi Lomi massage! As
you must know by now, I looove Hawaii and I had to try it while at my first
time at the Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa, California. It was a girls' outing and it started with checking in at
the front desk, ordering food and a bottle of bubbles at the Boost Cafe and
waiting for it to be delivered by the pool. Then, it was time to change into
our robes and await being called for our treatments.
Previously, I was a member of Massage Envy, a chain that offers monthly treatments such as massages, facials and even stretching for a fee. One of my Brides and dear friends turned me onto ME during one our quarterly meetups. I was never one to get massages often but the male therapist that worked on me was fantastic and I ended up signing up. Since then, I have had to cut back on costs and they even raised theirs. It was a sign. With my role as a Travel Agent, Concierge and Travel Blogger with a love for fashion and relaxation, I decided to cancel my membership and allow myself a treatment at different spas every quarter. The Silverado Resort and Spa was this particular quarter's selected establishment.
Post treatment, I was very much relaxed and enjoyed the treatment. My therapist was great. I normally do not enjoy therapists using their forearms but for some reason, my body was very receptive to this motion. I would definitely recommend it. My best friend and someone in law enforcement, needed a bit more pressure. She thought the Lomi Lomi massage was just OK. I now know better than to book something light for her.

The changing room is a bit dated and lit like a classroom
versus a relaxing, soft light. Music wasn't playing that I can remember and the
products offered didn't seem very luxurious. It really felt like a beauty
school station than a spa.
Heading to the waiting room, the 'decor' continues with the tiled floor and almost
ratan. Behind where I sat and looked over the cafe menu, a private spa is
available. My therapist retrieved me and escorted me to the dimly lit room for
my treatment. She spoke softly and explain the treatment. In summary, she was
going to use long fluid strokes to mimic the ocean. If I can't be beach side in
Hawaii, I expect this treatment to help transport me there.

With your treatment, you have access to the facilities
including the spa and pool. The same Bride and friend that got me into massages
also joined us for the day spa. We enjoyed laying out in the sun, using the
kick boards to do a few laps in the pool and the hot tub. We also kept the
staff busy with buying multiple bottles of bubbles. We had a good time and
basically shut the place down. When I have more time next time, I will explore
the actual resort which has tennis courts, golf and private event space for
weddings and special events.
Stay tuned for more posts on spas! I'm addicted!
