#EqualPayDay 2017

Women still make significantly less than men for the same work. Are you OK with that? Are you OK with that continuing to your daughter's generation? You shouldn't.

Last year, I posted how it was unfair that I was training my replacement that happened to be a male and he was paid more than I was when I first started. My boss at the time didn't see anything wrong with it when I looked at him sideways. I was happy to moving on.

Last night, I did something all women should know how to do: change a breaker. I came home early wanting to meal prep but the lights flickered and turned off. I asked my friend who I was chatting with if he knew how to change a breaker. He didn't and say 'YouTube!' Thank you to all that post tutorial and how to videos. You're a Godsend. I watched one video, removed the breaker, went to Home Depot at 9 PM, came home and tadah, there was light!

Who needs a man, right? My father raised and motivated an independent woman. He would be so disappointed in me if I called for a technician to come by to fix something was so simple. We both hate wasting money. But no fear, I fixed it within an hour.

I know a lot of women that are strong, independent, self-sufficient, brave and bold. We can do anything a man can. But can a man do anything a woman can? Childbirth. BOOM! So why are we not paid equivalent to men?

I love seeing the rise of women in the military, the corporate world, in politics and all while being an amazing mother. Keep at it, Ladies! And men, appreciate, respect and raise strong women, don't feel threatened by them.
