Yosemite - Our 2nd Anniversary Weekend

Image
(Finally finished this...) So it was our 2-year anniversary this past weekend (April) and I planned it per our agreement. I’ll take the even years and DB will take the odd years. BUT, I remembered that I planned our 1-year anniversary when we went to Calistoga for mud baths at The Golden Haven Spa Hot Springs Resort and checked out Old Faithful. Regardless, he did plan a trip to lovely Leggett, CA where we got stranded in his other white BMW. Anyways… I’ve been wanting to go to Yosemite for the longest time. I’m not a big camper but I will camp. DB has never camped so I didn’t expect him to tent it out there, so I made sure we had a motel/hotel room. And I wanted to bring Bevo. I don’t like having to pay extra so he can get boarded. I’d rather he come with us on our adventures. So we did. After reading blogs online, following a Yosemite park ranger on Twitter.com, reading reviews on Yelp.com and checking out trails, shuttle routes, weather.com, I planned our two-night stay in ...

No Fuss via Bus

Whether or not you live in California, visiting Yosemite should be on your bucket list. From San Francisco, it is a 3.5 hour drive. There are tours in large or small buses or you can go on your own. I have gone to Yosemite using both modes of transportation. Both times, they were completely worth it. Ten years ago, my boyfriend at the time and I took our dog to this magical place. With a fascination with geology from college, the sedimentary layers and the massive monoliths of towering granite is guaranteed to make you gasp. We drove our BMW M5 with dog in tow and stayed at an inn near a running river. We took a flat trail on a nice day and enjoyed the peacefulness. See previous blog post HERE . Now as a Concierge for a hotel at the Fisherman's Wharf , one of our partners is Grayline . To be able to speak more about what the hotel guests can expect from their tour with Grayline , I was able to go complimentary and bring a friend. For this particular event, I decided ...

Yosemite - This Weekend

For our second anniversary, my boyfriend and I, along with our 1.5-year-old Boston Terrier will be headed to Yosemite tomorrow after work. I am looking forward to exploring the national park with him, seeing Half Dome and El Capitan with my very own eyes, to stand near Bridalveil Falls. There are limited areas where we can take Bevo and I’m so glad the weather is going to dry. Weather.com is saying it’s going to be around 60-65 degrees. On Twitter.com, a park ranger has been reporting bear sightings. I hope we do see some cool animals but avoid any near attacks. My little pup is a lover, not a fighter. We will be staying at Yosemite View Lodge. I made reservations at the Ahwanhee Hotel for a pricey dinner but the BF said it was unnecessary. We’re paying $175/night at the hotel so… Stay tuned for a Yosemite recap.

My Most Engaging Post Yet

Image
Christmas is just days away. A storm in the Bay Area has passed. Two holiday parties were a success. But these past 18 hours have been a whirlwind for sure. Yesterday evening, after dinner, in our home office discussing the home we are in process of purchasing, holding a gray box from The Shane Company , my boyfriend (wearing a black long sleeved shirt and his Adidas pants with white paint stains from painting the condo earlier this year, and I in jeans, my Toby Keith blue tank top from his Las Vegas “ I Love This Bar ” restaurant, my blue SFSU zipper up sweatshirt, and my brown childhood blanket draped over my lap) got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. “Yeah.” I hugged him tight and kissed him repeatedly. He was shaking and said “I can’t believe you said ‘yes.” I couldn’t stop smiling and crying and saying “I love you.” And I couldn’t help but laugh when I called him my fiancé for the first time. Wow, we’re really engaged! Since we were in the process of negotiati...

My First iMovie

Image
I have just returned to California from the Carolinas and Georgia after spending a few days with my 12-year-old nephew. As the 5,000 plus photos accumulate on my phone, I have added an abundance more and videos to share. I failed to bring my converter for my iPhone earphones to plug into the armrest to watch any of the movies and entertainment offered on my JetBlue flight. So I explored putting together my first few iMovies. We had a great time visiting Wilmington, North Carolina and the USS North Carolina, Myrtle Beach, Boone Hill Plantation and Charleston, South Carolina and a spontaneous trip to Savannah, Georgia. We then explored Raleigh, North Carolina for their Caribbean Festival downtown and Durham and Duke University. Oh, the laughs and the food we had! East Coast - August 2018 Yosemite - June 2018 More detailed posts to come and I had fun putting these together. Stay tuned for more and follow my YouTube channel here. Yoga n Champagne

Image
Not a typical combo for yogis or wine-Os but it happened. I can't take it back. I am so far behind in posting on my travels that I need to catch up. Saved as one of the first photos in the Favorites album on my phone are these beauties. Yoga in Champagne, France. I met my friend, Lisa, through one of the monthly Women Wednesday events I used to throw at my restaurant in San Francisco. There isn't anything this girl doesn't do. She's a yoga instructor, aesthetician and sommelier. I attended an event she was working and she mentioned she and her boyfriend were going to Paris. I jokingly asked if I could crash her vacation. No joke, I did, but I brought my dear friend, Mercedes with me too, plus mi Papichulo (a nickname I call a dear Puerto Rican friend of mine). Before I fainted on the airplane to Europe (that's another story for another time), I thought it'd be good for Mercedes and Lisa to meet. Papichulo lived in Orlando so that we would be difficult ...
