One Busy Bee

My favorite band, the Los Lonely Boys, will be releasing their new album, 'Rockpango', on March 29, 2011. I am so excited for it. I heard one new song at the Napa concert last year and I believe it was called Rockpango. Check out the article below with the track titles. OBTB and La Onda will have to get together for a release party and make swag to promote the new album. Hmmm, what to do, what to do? They love us here in Northern California. We get 3-4 shows each tour (with the exception of their home state of Texas) and I hear it makes the rest of the nation a little jealous. Our group is very well organized and we really come together for the love of the music and the Boys. And it's also not bad that we get some love from the Boys as well. They know most of us by name and appreciate the promotion we do for them on our own dime. I'm at my 45th concert and I can't wait for my 50th because I'm going to do something special. The Los Lonely Boys put on two amazing shows. I wish I had the time to elaborate but I am so thankful Henry is feeling better after his accident last year. His brothers are right, there is no Lonely Boys without him...any of them. The thought of it just breaks my heart. Being with them, hearing their music live and being with the friends and remembering the many unforgettable memories they have brought me, says there's no doubt in my mind that I will continue this 8-9 year-long experience as long as they're the Los Lonely Boys. This One Busy Bee has only seen her favorite band, Los Lonely Boys , once this year. That is absurd as back in 2008, I saw them 14 times! But life as an entrepreneur requires some sacrifices. Perhaps the next time they're in Hawaii, I'll go. I took the day off from work to go up to Petaluma, California on a rainy day. Unfortunately, I was the only one to represent the SF Bay Area group of La Onda Street Steam but was happy to have my dear friend, recent Bride and fellow entrepreneur, Nikki , join me. She is bilingual and has started a school teaching Spanish. This concert was perfect for her as LLB and the opening act from Oakland, Bang Data, sing in both English and Spanish. Work has been crazy busy and I was prepping myself for my Event Manager's departure. We had non-stop events and I didn't take a day off for 19 days. The Los Lonely Boys concert in Napa, California at the Uptown Theatre was the perfect reason to take a day off. It also fell on a Friday. I met up with my friend, Maria, and her boyfriend, Gabriel, at one of many wine bars we visited that day. It was great to be social, get out of town and be in Napa. As soon as I saw the vines on the highway, I felt like I could breathe. I'm way too far to turnaround if there's an emergency at work so I was going to make the best of my much needed day off. I indulged in wine, cheese and crackers, mac and cheese, a salad, cornbread and chocolate in our little Downtown Napa tour. When you need a snack, consider checking out Napkins and check in on Yelp . What an incredible weekend! I went to four concerts in three days for the Los Lonely Boys , got to hang out with them before or after three of them but the most amazing thing was that they came to the Listening Party that Laurie J. and So Cal La Onda worked so hard on. I mean, who really gets to sit down and have a meal with them??? I really felt like we were a family (on many different levels) and I think this weekend confirmed in many members’ minds that the Boys really do appreciate each and every one of us of La Onda because they took the time to give each one of us a hug, look us in the eye, and basically say ‘thank you’ with such sincerity and a smile. Not that this would happen but if I couldn’t make another concert, I would have definitely ended my streak of 49 concerts on a Mt. Everest-like high.
